Complementing the insights and findings of the project’s national survey, the study also drew on insights from interviews with eleven diverse Australian musicians who are navigating portfolio careers. These interviews have provided a qualitative and nuanced understanding of how musicians are individually structuring their careers, and negotiating the challenges and benefits of configuring one’s career in this manner.
